COURSE DESCRIPTION

We offer Manual Handling course virtually via Zoom. Our qualified QQI Level 6 Instructor will deliver the theory session live on Zoom. The practical assessment can be done in person or online via Zoom conference call.

Our Manual Handling course is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to allow him or her carry out a manual handling activity in a manner which reduces or eliminates the risk of injury.

Who should attend?

All individuals (TY Students) engaged in manual handling of loads during their work.

Course Content:

• Introduction
• Legislation
• Risk factors for back injuries
• Study of Bio-mechanics
• Anatomy & Back care
• Ergonomics
• Hazard Identification
• Risk Assessment
• Measures to avoid or reduce the risk of injury
• Looking after your back outside work
• Principles of Manual Handling
• Need to further develop these skills in the workplace
• Practical demonstrations relevant to workplace
• Assessments

Assessment

The course comprises of theory and practical. It is tailored to suit the industry of the trainees. There will be a short written test and skills demonstration as part of the assessment.

Course Duration: 3 hours

Trainer

All courses are delivered by a qualified QQI Level 6 Instructor.

Certification: Certified by Edmart Training & Consultancy in line with the HAS guidelines after successful completion of manual handling training and assessments.

Certification Validity: 3 Years

Refresher Course:

The learners must undergo refresher training every three years and when there is any major change in the work involved or equipment used or when an employee is transferred to another activity requiring different loads to be handled.
