Manual Handling Course

Our Manual Handling course is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to allow him or her to carry out a manual handling activity in a manner which reduces or eliminates the risk of injury.

Requirements

There are currently no prerequisites for this course. Students should be physically well enough to carry out practical demonstrations of pulling, pushing, lifting, lowering, carrying and moving.

Who should attend?

All individuals engaged in manual handling of loads during their work.

• Anatomy & Back care
• Ergonomics
• Hazard Identification
• Risk Assessment
• Measures to avoid or reduce the risk of injury
• Looking after your back outside work
• Principles of Manual Handling
• Need to further develop these skills in the workplace
• Practical demonstrations relevant to workplace
• Assessments

Assessment

The course comprises theory and practical. It is tailored to suit the industry of the trainees. There will be a short written test and skills demonstration as part of the assessment.

Course Duration: 3 hours

Trainer

All courses are delivered by a qualified QQI Level 6 Instructor.

Certification: Certified by Edmart Training & Consultancy in line with the HAS guidelines after successful completion of manual handling training and assessments.

Certification Validity: 3 Years

Refresher Course: In order to maintain you qualification after your three-year certification period you will be required to undertake the course again. There is no refresher training for people who currently have an in-date certificate.

Refund Policy: No Refund will be provided if cancelling or  “No-Show” on the course or a failure to complete the course.
